How it works
Three taps to set up. One tap after that.
Pair with one person
You scan their code, they scan yours. Both of you have to say yes, so nobody can add you to anything.
Put them on your Home Screen
A widget with their face. It shows whether they're free, and what time it is where they are.
Tap when you think of them
Their phone buzzes once, and their widget lights up in your colour for ten minutes.

Fifteen minutes of words
One kind of notification, and only one: someone thought of you. Press and hold it to send a few words back; they live for fifteen minutes, then leave. No reminders, no announcements, nothing asking you to come back.

Keep your finger down and watch the words change. Whichever one you stop on is the one that arrives on their phone, and their widget stays lit for longer, in a deeper colour. Their phone still buzzes exactly once, however long you hold. Nothing here can be used to insist.

Try it: draw, or tap an emoji and scatter a few.
Pick an emoji or draw with your finger, and it appears behind their face, in the app and on their Home Screen. It fades after twenty-four hours and is then deleted from both phones. There is no album, no history, and no way to see an old one.
Why it stays small
Nothing piles up
No inbox, no feed, no history to scroll. A knock happens and it's gone, and a few words fade after fifteen minutes. The only thing kept is how many days you've both shown up.
Quiet by default
Set your quiet hours and a knock arrives silently. Their face still lights up on your widget, waiting for when you look.
Encrypted end to end
Faces, names and knocks are scrambled on your phone with a key only you and your person hold. Nobody else can read them, not even us. Nobody can add you unless you say yes, and there's no directory, no suggestions and no way to be found. The only way in is a code someone hands you.
What Knock will never be
No messages. No feed. No notifications begging you to come back. No subscription, no ads, no analytics, and nothing sold to anyone. Nothing accumulates, and nothing here is built to keep you here.
